We are not a program. We provide students with a daily experience and exposure into healthcare.
M.E.D.S. (Medical Exposure During School) After School Experience (ASE) is tailored for middle school students with exposure into the world of healthcare. M.E.D.S. ASE is an intentional and unique environment for the enrichment of students in partnership with our staff, the school, parents, and volunteers.
The most vital component in this after school experience is our students.
This experience is designed for an entire school year consisting of physical and intellectual creativity.
Daily students will experience a sense of belonging, improvement in social skills, academic support, fun in learning, safe environment and increase in self-confidence.
Each week consists of a theme that offers a sneak peek within the healthcare arena.
Friday is designed for fun, food, and demonstrations from the weeks’ theme.
Medical college and nursing students are given the opportunity to gain clinical hours as counselors.
Counselors in training is for our 11th and 12th graders to serve as up-and-coming counselors with opportunity to gain leadership hours.
We offer a live interactive virtual experience with physical distance meetups or online activities. (optional)
Our priority is placed on the activities, safety, relationships, physical and emotional balance for middle school students. Parents are comfortable knowing their child(ren) is in a safe, fun, and learning environment after school.
We give students the opportunity to turn the aimless hours after school into a productive learning time. Our experience allows this setting to provide a wide range of activities and exposure into healthcare.
Late Pick-up is 6:30P-7:30P and is $30 additional fee and paid during registration. Unplanned late pick-up is $15 for up to 30 minutes and $30 after 30 minutes (paid upon pick-up).
Our hours provide safety from 4:00PM to 6:30PM. We provide late pick-up until 7:30PM. Our desire is for each student to grow as a person, build positive relationships, learn, and master new skills in a safe space after school. Registration occurs online or on-site.
