After-School Experience
M.E.D.S (Medical Exposure During School) After School Experience (ASE) is tailored for middle school students with exposure into the world of healthcare. M.E.D.S. ASE is an intentional and unique environment for the enrichment of students in partnership with our staff, the school, parents, and volunteers. We give students the opportunity to turn the aimless hours after school into a productive learning time.
About Our Experience
Our experience philosophy allows this setting to provide a wide range of activities and experiences. The hours of operation are from 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Our desire is for each student to grow as a person, build positive relationships, learn, and master new skills.

One-on-OnE INSTRUCTIONS
One-on-one activities is a personalized instruction for student needs. These activities consist of sports, math, science, medical terminology, first-aid, life skills, safety training, and dance. Personalized attention has been proven to increase knowledge in an assortment of subject matters.
Early Dismissal Days
M.E.D.S. ASE students can stay after-school and participate in a voluntary Early Dismissal. This option is useful for parents without pick-up options and desires a safe and fun environment for their child. These programs are only available to M.E.D.S. ASE students for an additional fee. Early Dismissal Days are prepared and consist of food, fun and activities.
Emergency Days
M.E.D.S. ASE provides a convenient drop-in option service for those unforeseen schedule changes or conflicts. This service is available for sporadic occurrences by M.E.D.S. ASE students only, for an additional charge. Drop-in students have fun participating in daily schedules and courses.
After School Experience MEDS (Most Experienced and Developed Student) Nights
We offer celebratory opportunities as incentives, which motivate students to become interested in activities. This night experience allows parents and staff to interact, and students demonstrate their successes. We offer awards to students who have an increase development of experience, motivation, and involvement. This aids in consistent learning, engagement, and interest throughout the school year.
Experience Dailies
M.E.D.S. ASE offers a fun and safe environment while school is out. This includes school holidays or closures, for a separate charge. Experience Dailies is a topic-based, fun-filled, and hands-on medical developmental environment. Due to space restrictions/limitations, reserving early is required.
Each week consists of themes that offer a sneak peek within the healthcare arena. Friday is designed for fun, food, and demonstrations from the week’s theme.
Transportation
If space allowed, we offer transportation from select nearby middle schools for the after-school experience which operates from school dismissal to 6:30PM. In addition to daily enrichment activities, students receive homework assistance and enjoy fun medical exposure. The after-school experience is for middle school students. We follow the Houston Independent School District calendar.
We believe all students need access to this after school experience.
